Welcome to my new blog - and my new website! If you were a follower of my blog over on Typepad, you may have noticed that I haven't updated it for nearly four months. A lot has happened since then, including two amazing trips to beautiful places - the Peak District in September and the Highlands of Scotland in December - both of which will inspire and influence the work to come in 2016. I'm excited to share more images from these trips with you, which I intend to do here on this new blog. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you will have already seen several of these photos! The past few months have also been my busiest ever; ironically the more I had to tell you about, the less time I had to actually write the blog posts. I felt completely overwhelmed at times (mostly in a good way) so I concentrated on updating my social media accounts instead, as this was a quick and easy way to keep people up to date with what was happening.
To be honest, I've also been going through a lot of soul searching when it comes to blogging. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to continue at all, and if I did decide to continue, I needed to figure out out exactly how, when, and what I would write about. I don't want to go into details, but this past year has been a difficult, at-times-wonderful, at-times-awful, shocking and enlightening year. I'm talking personally rather than in a business sense, but this is also influencing my approach to my art career and business. To cut a long story short, I am now clearer than ever about the direction I'm heading in creatively, both in the work itself and how I approach sharing that work with you and the wider world.
Which brings us to the new website! I hope you've been able to have a look around and that you'll find it much more user-friendly and mobile-friendly than the old one. I've had that website since 2008 and the need for a change has been in the air for a long time. The start of 2016 seemed the perfect time to launch the new website and integrated blog. A lot of hard work has been going on behind the scenes, but it's been worth it!
All that remains is for me to wish you all a very Happy New Year and to thank you for your amazing support during 2015. It means so much to me and I never take it for granted.
Have a wonderful 2016!
